Orange County reports another 3,077 COVID-19 cases, 17 more deaths

Hospitalizations in Orange County remain high, according to data reported by the Orange County Health Care Agency on Wednesday.

About 2,249 are hospitalized due to the coronavirus, and 485 of those cases are being cared for in intensive care units. Data from area hospitals indicates that there are about 0% of adult beds available in ICUs across the region. Only 32% ventilators are available.

Health officials reported 3,077 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of reported cases in the county up to 175,032. An additional 17 deaths were recorded. Those deaths include about five skilled nursing facility residents and 12 assisted living facility residents. The total number of deaths in Orange County is 1,943.

An estimated 103,960 have recovered.

Gov. Here are the latest cumulative coronavirus case counts and COVID-19 deaths for select cities in Orange County:

  • Santa Ana: 32,575 cases; 381 deaths
  • Anaheim: 29,615 cases; 416 deaths
  • Huntington Beach: 7,031 cases; 107 deaths
  • Costa Mesa: 5,744 cases; 55 deaths
  • Irvine: 6,487 cases; 26 deaths
  • Newport Beach: 2,469 cases; 28 deaths
  • Fountain Valley: 2,264 cases; 30 deaths
  • Laguna Beach: 547 cases; fewer than five deaths

Here are the case counts by age group, followed by deaths:

  • 0 to 17: 16,793 cases; one death
  • 18 to 24: 24,395 cases; five deaths
  • 25 to 34: 36,053 cases; 27 deaths
  • 35 to 44: 27,626 cases; 45 deaths
  • 45 to 54: 28,338 cases; 144 deaths
  • 55 to 64: 21,702 cases; 267 deaths
  • 65 to 74: 10,836 cases; 373 deaths
  • 75 to 84: 5,440 cases; 439 deaths
  • 85 and older: 3,754 cases; 642 deaths
