More protesting than surfing these days in Huntington Beach
A day after three counter-protesters, including one dressed as the Grim Reaper, showed up to downtown Huntington Beach, around 1,500 demonstrators turned up in Surf City Saturday.
The latest protesters demanded the opposite of Friday’s trio.
Reporter Andrew Turner writes that Saturday’s large crowd called for both the state and the nation to fully reopen — both economically and socially — and protested precautions that have been implemented intended to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Photographer Rau Roa captured the protest in still photos and video. You also have to check out how Roa disinfects after covering a protest.
