Interior designer Alison Palevsky collaborates with the Hollywood-based Thomas Hayes Studio on the + Palevsky line, which includes hand-crafted boards that can serve as a cheese platter, cutting board or simple tray. In 1948, the Coffey-Hoyt Products company was founded in Gardena, making a name for itself with the "Drizzle Boot" overshoe, a clear plastic wrap for high heels made famous by Doris Day in the 1951 movie "Storm Warning."
