Los Angeles County donors have given more than $13 million to the field of Democratic challengers in 2020. Here's what we know.

Sen. Kamala Harris leads all Democrats in the race for L.A. County cash. Large hauls from fundraisers on the wealthy Westside have helped top her rivals here, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, who holds the nationwide lead thanks to an army of small donors spread across America.

Here's the breakdown
We mapped the donor pool for each candidate. This is what they show.
Kamala Harris
Senator from CaliforniaThe wealthy Westside, which Harris now calls home, has put millions into her career, which started in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The U.S. senator's presidential bid has netted large hauls from elite neighborhoods like Brentwood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. She's also pulled in tens of thousands of dollars from historically black neighborhoods like Leimert Park and Ladera Heights.
Pete Buttigieg
Mayor of South Bend, Ind.Buttigieg, the most successful LGBTQ candidate for president, has raised more than $130,000 in the gay mecca of West Hollywood — a sum greater than any competitor.
While some rivals have broad support across the county, Buttigieg's donors are concentrated in neighborhoods surrounding West Hollywood like Beverly Grove, Hollywood, and Hollywood Hills West. Even so, he ranks second among Democrats in Los Angeles County so far.
Bernie Sanders
Senator from VermontThanks to his massive base of small-dollar donors, Sanders is less reliant on big checks from the wealthy Westside. His support stretches all across Los Angeles County and he leads other candidates in many of the county's eastern areas.
Joe Biden
Former vice presidentWhile Biden trails the front-runners, he has still raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from some of the same wealthy regions.
Elizabeth Warren
Senator from MassachusettsWarren, who has intentionally eschewed traditional big-dollar fundraising events, is dependent on small-dollar donors. She doesn't have many areas where she stands out, but she does well all over.
Cory Booker
Senator from New JerseyThough he trails the first tier of fundraisers, the New Jersey senator received support from some of the county's most generous donors at a recent Santa Monica event co-hosted by members of the Obama administration and his girlfriend, actress Rosario Dawson.
Beto O'Rourke
Former congressman from TexasDespite running one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in congressional history, O'Rourke has struggled to compete with his Democratic rivals here in Los Angeles.
Kirsten Gillibrand
Senator from New YorkGillibrand, a champion of the #MeToo movement that shook Hollywood's power elite, remains stuck in the middle of the pack.
Amy Klobuchar
Senator from MinnesotaThe Midwesterner, one of a record number of women running in 2020, has also failed to break through.
Julian Castro
Former Housing secretaryThis member of president Obama's cabinet has relied chiefly on donations from the Westside precincts that bolstered Obama's two runs to the White House.
Michael Bennet
Senator from ColoradoThe Coloradan assembled a donor network during a stint as head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which has yet to pay dividends.
Andrew Yang
Founder of Venture for AmericaThe Silicon Valley entrepreneur's strongest support came from the San Gabriel Valley, home to many fellow Asian Americans.
Tulsi Gabbard
Congresswoman from HawaiiGabbard, a practicing Hindu, has garnered strong support from Indian Americans in Los Angeles and across America.
Marianne Williamson
Author of self-help and spiritual booksDespite being a longtime Los Angeles resident who once sought to represent the Westside in Congress, Williamson has struggled to raise money at home.
Steve Bullock
Governor of MontanaHaving only joined the race in May, the Montana governor has not had much time to tap into the county's donor pool.
Jay Inslee
Governor of WashingtonDespite his emphasis on climate change, a topic dear to California environmentalists, Inslee has struggled to raise money here in Los Angeles.
