Alexa Sonnenfeld is the former chief of staff to the newsroom. Previously, she served as a digital analyst and an audience engagement editor. Before joining The Times, Sonnenfeld helped launch a member-funded news start-up and conducted primary audience research at the Atlantic. She is from Colorado and a graduate of Dartmouth College.
