Hear the 911 call about Tamir Rice: Gun is ‘probably fake,’ caller says
The Cleveland police officers who killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice on Saturday were responding to a 911 call reporting a person with a “probably fake” gun.
“There is a guy with a pistol,” the caller had said. “It’s probably fake, but he’s pointing it at everybody.”
The officers drove up to Tamir, who was alone at a gazebo outside a recreation center. They got out of their car and, seconds later, fired shots. Tamir died. His gun turned out to be a toy.
Here is the audio recording of the 911 call, released by the Cleveland Police Department.
