Ft. Hood killings probably murder-suicide, Army says
HOUSTON — A man and his two young daughters found dead on a Texas Army base this week probably died in a murder-suicide, investigators said Wednesday.
The bodies of a 43-year-old man and his two daughters, ages 9 and 4, were found about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at their house in the Pershing Park neighborhood of Ft. Hood, a sprawling U.S. Army base about 70 miles north of Austin, according to a statement released by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
The man’s wife, the mother of the two children, is a soldier who has just returned from a deployment overseas, the statement said.
Officials did not identify the soldier or her family.
“Although a final determination has not been made and the investigation is continuing, early indications are the deaths are possibly the result of a tragic murder-suicide involving the husband and the two children,” the statement said.
Autopsies are being conducted by the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner.
