Reader Photo: Sun, sun, go away!
In Los Angeles, you’re unlikely to see an umbrella unless it’s raining or someone’s sitting beneath one at the beach. Though the dermatologist would probably like to see more folks hiding from the sun, face it: We’re mostly a sun-worshiping group in Southern California.
Photographer JR Marquina was out at Griffith Obervatory when this fellow caught his attention. “I just simply wanted to catch the irony of the moment,” wrote Marquina of the photo, in an email. “Beautiful sunny day in Los Angeles, being shunned away by the man with the umbrella.”
Marquina took this photo with his Canon Rebel Tli, using a 55-250mm lens.
