Reader Photo: Come closer, little bird
The tradition of the annual Blessing of the Animals on Olvera Street is always one of spectacle, and this year’s was no different. Animals of all sizes were on hand and created quite the scene for attendees and photographers alike.
Photographer Sally Ann Field was there with camera in hand to capture this unique image:
“As I was wandering through the crowds I happened upon a group of little ballerinas who were totally captivated by this bird in a cage,” wrote Field in an email. “The girls were a flurry of activity trying to see and talk to the bird. I took several frames, but this one where I held my camera over my head and shot down was the winner for me.”
Field shot this photo with a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24mm wide angle lens.
