Manhunt underway for gunman in killing of man and woman in Winnetka
Police were searching Monday for a gunman who they said shot and killed a man and a woman inside a Winnetka home.
Neighbors reported hearing multiple shots about 11 a.m. in the 7800 block of Oso Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Witnesses later saw a man running north from the home, police said.
The victims were pronounced dead by paramedics.
The woman lived at the home and the man was “a recent acquaintance,” according to LAPD Capt. Paul Vernon. Both victims were in their 20s.
“Preliminary information would lead us to believe the shooter knew one or both victims,” Vernon said in a statement.
Detectives surrounded the neighborhood Monday afternoon as they searched for clues in the shootings.
In the last year, three other homicides occurred in Winnetka, according to The Times’ Homicide Report.
Anyone with information is urged to call LAPD Det. David Peteque at (818) 374-1934.
