One killed, one wounded in Willowbrook drive-by shooting
Authorities are investigating the Saturday drive-by shooting death of a man on the 1200 block of East 121st Street in the Willowbrook neighborhood of unincorporated Los Angeles.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a release. A suspect in a moving black Hyundai had apparently opened fire on two victims, then drove west on East 121st Street.
The victims were discovered sitting in front of a car suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to area hospitals, where one was pronounced dead. The other is in stable condition. Authorities will not be releasing the names of the victims until later, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy Mark Pope.

Detectives have not determined a motive for the attack.
The Willowbrook neighborhood has seen at least 10 other fatal shooting this year, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
