Vehicle fire jams traffic on 710 Freeway during morning commute
A vehicle fire snarled traffic on the southbound 710 Freeway in Compton during Monday morning’s commute, authorities said.
At least two southbound lanes were blocked near Alondra Boulevard because of the fire, which was reported at about 8:09 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Ramberto Salcido.
Firefighters had extinguished the flames and moved the vehicle to the right shoulder of the roadway by 8:30 a.m., he said.
Traffic was backed up for several miles.
Salcido said an arrest was made in connection with the incident but that no additional information was immediately available.
