Man attempting to rob South L.A. taco stand fatally shot by employee, police say
A man who attempted to rob a South Los Angeles taco stand Friday night was fatally shot by one of the stand’s employees, police said.
Around 11:50 p.m. three armed male suspects approached the taco stand near the corner of Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street and attempted to rob it, authorities said.

One of the taco stand employees was also armed, “and he defended himself,” firing multiple gunshots at one of the robbers, LAPD Sgt. M. Mason said.
The wounded man was later pronounced dead at a hospital. He has not been identified.
Meanwhile, the two other suspects fled the scene and are still being sought, Mason said.
The employee who opened fire was not arrested, though police say the investigation is continuing.
