A San Francisco police officer whose good-looks earned him a bevy of admirers and the nickname “Hot Cop of Castro” was arrested early Sunday for allegedly driving into two pedestrians and fleeing the scene, authorities said.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Officer Chris Kohrs was off-duty about 2:20 a.m. when police allege his Dodge Charger smashed into two men who were walking across Broadway near Montgomery Street, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department.

Kohrs hopped out of the Charger and fled the scene on foot, but SFPD investigators later identified him and tracked him down, according to the department’s statement.

Kohrs, 38, was arrested and booked on two felony counts of hit and run, police said.

Kohrs was placed on administrative leave pending the investigation into the incident, SFPD Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

With his chiseled, athletic body, Kohrs gained a following while patrolling in the city’s Castro district, and online he became known as the “Hot Cop of Castro.”

A Facebook fan page with more than 50,000 followers features shirtless photos of Kohrs and showcases charitable initiatives for the Officer Down Memorial Fund.
