Police say man kills ex-wife, daughter before trying to kill himself
A San Bernardino woman and her 6-year-old daughter found fatally stabbed Wednesday were believed to have been killed by the woman’s ex-husband, who remains hospitalized after attempting to kill himself, police said Wednesday.
Jordon Sartorio, 42, and Miraflor Sartorio, 51, were divorced but were still living together and were having an argument, according to a statement from San Bernardino police.
Police said Jordon Sartorio picked up a knife and began stabbing his ex-wife several times.
Their daughter, Jira, woke up and started screaming. Then, police said, Sartorio stabbed the girl and killed her.
Sartorio called the police himself to report the incident, authorities said.
When police arrived, officers found Sartorio had slit his wrist. He was arrested and taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition and is scheduled to undergo surgery for his wrist.
