Pilot injured when plane crashes onto Rancho Palos Verdes beach
A pilot sustained minor injuries Friday when a small plane crashed on a Rancho Palos Verdes beach, officials said.
Los Angeles County firefighters were called to the Trump National Golf Club in the Portuguese Bend area shortly before 11:45 a.m. after reports of a plane upside-down on the beach, department officials said.
The pilot was the sole person on board.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker tweeted the pilot was “alert & talking.”
Television footage showed waves hitting the aircraft as emergency workers examined the scene.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said that the agency had no immediate information.
