One dead in Hawthorne officer-involved shooting
A man died Wednesday afternoon in a shooting involving officers with the Hawthorne Police Department, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 12:31 p.m. in the 13900 block of South Cerise Avenue, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which responded to the incident.

The man who was killed, identified by authorities as a suspect, was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
A spokesman for the Hawthorne Police Department said officers at the scene were not harmed.
It was unknown what caused the shooting, officials said. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
