Man found shot to death inside running car in Lawndale
Sheriff’s deputies in Lawndale are investigating the killing of a man who was found shot to death inside a car early Saturday morning.
Deputies were called to the scene by someone who heard shots fired about 5:42 a.m. near the 4000 block of 159th Street, according to an L.A. County Sheriff’s Department news release.
When deputies arrived, they found a late-model Dodge Charger that had crashed into a building. The engine was still running, and the man behind the wheel had been shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.
No arrests have been made, authorities said.
