Authorities identify Compton man killed in possible gang shooting
A man shot to death Saturday night in the 1000 block of West Compton Boulevard has been identified as Kent Sewell, 27, of Compton, according to Lt. Joe Bale of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Sewell was pronounced dead at the scene after authorities found him shot and wounded in front of a business.
Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department say the attack may be gang-related. No other information was available.

There have been at least 31 other shooting deaths in Compton’s city limits this year, according to the Times’ Homicide Report database.
