Police: O.C. man confesses to sexually abusing daughter since age of 2
An Orange County man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of repeatedly sexually abusing his daughter since she was 2 years old, authorities said.
Amado Rios-Arriga, 41, was arrested at his home in the 800 block of West La Jolla Street in Placentia, Lt. Eric Point of the Placentia Police Department said in a statement.
Rios-Arriga’s arrest followed an investigation that began on Sept. 29, when a woman brought her now 11-year-old daughter into the police department to report that the child’s biological father had been abusing her since the age of 3, Point said. The sexual abuse ceased when the girl was 9 years old, the mother told police.
After detectives arrested Rios-Arriga, he confessed to “committing multiple sex acts with his daughter,” starting at the age of 2 until she was 9 years old, police said.
The alleged abuse occurred in the family’s home, and police do not believe there are other victims.
Rios-Arriga is being held on several charges, including sexual abuse of a child, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and incest, police said. His bail was set at $1 million.
An attorney for Rios-Arriga could not be reached for comment.
