Man arrested in connection with his mother’s slaying
A 47-year-old man was in custody Saturday on suspicion of killing his mother after he had reported her death to police, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
Shelton Bradley was arrested Friday after he allegedly told authorities he found his mother, 73-year-old Rosie Manuel, “unresponsive” in her kitchen in the 44000 block of Beach Avenue in Lancaster about 6 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Paramedics responded and pronounced Manuel dead at the scene, officials said.
Investigators determined Bradley was allegedly responsible for her death and arrested him on suspicion of murder early Friday. He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, a county coroner’s official said.
