A Mexican regional singer who stars in a Spanish-language TV show was arrested at Ontario Airport on a warrant out of South Carolina, authorities said Monday.

Larry Hernandez, 38, was taken into custody on suspicion of kidnapping, assault and assault and battery causing injury, said Los Angeles airport police spokesman Rob Pendregon.

Hernandez had been scheduled to fly on Southwest Airlines from Ontario to Denver on Friday but was stopped and arrested at the gate, he said.
