LAPD searching for shooting suspect in Highland Park
A busy Highland Park thoroughfare was shut down Tuesday night as LAPD officers searched for a male suspect believed to have shot another man.
The shooting occurred about 9:20 p.m. in the 6000 block of Fayette Street, said LAPD Officer Nuria Vanegas.
The condition and age of the victim were not immediately available.
The suspect was described as male; 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 180 pounds, Vanegas said. He was wearing black shorts and a black-and-white shirt.
Several police vehicles were scouring the streets of Highland Park for the suspect, shutting down York Boulevard between Branch Street and Milwaukee Avenue to the public.
An LAPD officer saw the suspect flee the scene of the shooting on foot, Vanegas said, but lost sight of him.
No additional details were immediately available.
