Woman found dead in car outside a La Habra movie theater
Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found Friday inside a vehicle in a La Habra movie theater parking lot.
Coroner’s investigators and detectives on Friday morning descended on Regal Cinemas in the 1200 block of Imperial Highway looking for clues into the woman’s death.
“We got nothing to lead us in any direction right now,” said La Habra police Sgt. Ron Hurst.
A man walking his dog through the theater parking lot about 7:47 a.m. spotted the woman in the driver’s seat of the small, newer Honda Civic, he said. She appeared to be unresponsive.
The man flagged down an officer who happened to be patrolling the parking lot at the time. The officer tried to make contact with the 35-year-old woman, and soon realized she was dead.
Although authorities did not see any outward signs of trauma, they considered her death to be suspicious because of where she was found, Hurst said.
Investigators also noticed the vehicle had body damage from a collision, he said, although it was not clear whether the dents and scrapes were from a recent crash.
