Detectives searching for mother after fetus found in Hawthorne dumpster
Police are looking for a woman whose fetus was found in a dumpster behind a gym in Hawthorne on Friday morning, authorities said.
The fetus was discovered behind Coast Fitness on El Segundo Boulevard about 7:30 a.m., said Hawthorne police Lt. Jim Royer.
Detectives will canvass the area to search for witnesses. No arrests have been made, Royer said.
The Los Angeles County coroner was headed to the scene as well, he added.
