Dad kills one daughter, wounds another before shooting self
A man killed one of his adult daughters early Monday and critically wounded another in the Central Valley town of Orosi before fatally shooting himself, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said.
The gunman was identified as Anthony Alvarez, 63. Dead at the scene was Jennifer Kimble, 37, a mother of three children. Valerie Alvarez, 33, was in critical condition at a Fresno hospital. All three lived in Orosi.
Three of the gunman’s grandchildren were in the home during the 4:39 a.m. shooting and one of them, an 8-year-old girl, called sheriff’s deputies to report gunfire. The children, including two boys, ages 11 and 13, were not harmed, deputies said.
The children were reunited with their father, who was at work at the time of the shootings, deputies said.
