Duarte man is suspected of fatally shooting his neighbor
A man is suspected of shooting his neighbor during an argument at a Duarte house party Friday night, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 7:55 p.m. in the 2100 block of Broach Avenue, said Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The two men had argued, and the suspect went home to get his gun, Hernandez said. The suspect returned to the scene and fired several times at the victim, killing him, Hernandez said.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
The suspect fled in a white Toyota pickup.
After a brief police pursuit on the 210 Freeway, the man pulled over and was arrested, Hernandez said. A weapon was found inside his truck.
Witnesses said the two men lived on the same property in separate residences.
