Surfer’s body discovered at Swami’s Beach in San Diego County
The body of a surfer was discovered early Friday on Swami’s Beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

The man was wearing a wetsuit and was attached to his surfboard by a leash, the Sheriff’s Department said. The body was discovered by a surfer who arrived at the beach shortly after 5 a.m.
The county medical examiner identified the man as 61-year-old Kenneth Mann of Encinitas. No cause of death has been determined.
