Corona teacher arrested on suspicion of having sex with students
A Corona high school teacher was arrested Thursday on suspicion of having sex with students on school grounds, the Corona Police Department said.
Police were notified Tuesday by the Corona-Norco Unified School District of a possible inappropriate relationship between Summer Michelle Hansen, a 31-year-old teacher at Centennial High School, and a former student, the department said.
Multiple victims under the age of 18 who have allegedly had sexual contact with the teacher on school grounds have been identified, police said. Hansen has been placed on leave, according to Tom Pike, Corona-Norco School District assistant superintendent.
Two search warrants were served Thursday, one in the city of Corona and one in the county of Riverside. Hansen was arrested the same day on suspicion of multiple counts of engaging in unlawful sex with a minor and oral copulation of a minor, police said.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing. Police are asking the parents of male students who attend or have attended Centennial High School to speak with their children about any contact they may have had with Hanson.
Anyone with information should contact Det. Mario Hernandez of the Corona Police Department at (951) 279-3659.
