Man killed in Compton in possible gang-related shooting
Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man in Compton on Saturday, authorities said.
Deputies responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 1000 block of West Compton Boulevard. at about 9:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
They discovered the unidentified male victim slumped in front of a business suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.

Detectives believe the incident was gang-related, although no suspect information or additional details were available.
There have been approximately 178 homicides within two miles of the incident since 2007, according to the Times Homicide Report database.
