Suspect held in series of San Fernando Valley fires
Los Angeles authorities say a woman arrested on an outstanding warrant is the subject of an arson investigation involving a series of suspicious fires in the San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez said the woman was taken into custody Monday after officials issued a flier seeking a female suspect seen on video trying to set a big rig on fire last week in North Hollywood.
Lopez said the 35-year-old had a warrant for allegedly bringing contraband into a jail. Investigators are trying to determine if she’s the suspect from the video.
An arson squad is investigating at least five small tree fires and auto blazes that took place across the same general area last Thursday morning.
