72-year-old man accused of viewing child porn on his laptop
Authorities arrested a 72-year-old man who allegedly was using free Wi-Fi at a Riverside County restaurant to view child porn on his laptop.
Deputies responded to the Menifee Marketplace after a customer complained that Charles Turton Cook was looking porn on his laptop, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday night.
“Deputies contacted the suspect inside the restaurant and confirmed he was viewing child pornography utilizing the restaurant’s open Wi-Fi,” department officials said in a statement.
Cook’s laptop allegedly contained “numerous digital photographs depicting young male children,” according to officials.
He was arrested and booked at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.
