Homeless man beaten with skateboard in unprovoked attack dies
A sleeping homeless man who was beaten with a skateboard in what witnesses described as an unprovoked attack in North Park over the weekend has died, San Diego police said Thursday.
The victim, identified as 55-year-old Arthur Angulo of San Diego, had been hospitalized since Saturday after he was found about 4:30 a.m. in an alley off El Cajon Boulevard near Idaho Street, San Diego police homicide Lt. Todd Griffin said.
He had serious head trauma and was removed from life support Thursday morning, police said.
The suspect has been described as white, about 6 feet tall and in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a dark shirt and gray shorts. He was seen leaving the area in a white sedan, police said.
