16-year-old girl at juvenile detention center in Fresno dies after medical emergency
Authorities say a juvenile inmate who was having a medical emergency was taken to a central California hospital where she died.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says Sunday that 16-year-old Bryana Terriquez was being held at the Juvenile Justice Campus south of Fresno.
The Fresno Bee reports she was taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno, where she died Saturday.
The cause of her death will be determined by an autopsy.
Authorities say Terriquez was in custody because of an unspecified probation violation.
