Sidecar Doughnuts is bringing its huckleberry doughnuts to Santa Monica
Sidecar Doughnuts, the Costa Mesa doughnut shop known for its seasonal doughnuts, is opening a location in Santa Monica on Nov. 17. That means you’ll have a Los Angeles County option to enjoy a Sidecar huckleberry doughnut.
The Wilshire Boulevard doughnut shop is opening next to a Juice Served Here and Mendocino Farms. So doughnuts and a cold-pressed juice are a definite possibility, if that’s your thing.
Chef and owner Brooke Desprez says the menu for the Santa Monica location will be the same rotating seasonal menu as the Costa Mesa outlet, but she plans on making full use of the Santa Monica farmers market. If she happens to find something special at the market, don’t be surprised if you find it in your doughnut the next day.
Sidecar is known for frying doughnuts every hour, and the Santa Monica location will follow suit. If you stop in 15 minutes before closing time, there should be a warm doughnut waiting for you.
You’ll be able to order Sidecar’s signature daily flavors, including the maple bacon, country hame and eggs, and huckleberry. The opening monthly menu will include honey and cake, lemon and thyme, apple fritter, Southern gentleman “pecan pie,” “pumpkin fool” and “choc a lot. “
The Wilshire Boulevard location has a small patio in front with outdoor seating.
Sidecar Doughnuts will be open daily, with exact hours coming soon.
