You can now pair your Peeps with all those pumpkin spice lattes. Lucky you.
Is it fall yet? Because Pumpkin Spice Peeps are coming.
Yeah, you heard that right. The colorful marshmallow candies have jumped the shark — I mean jumped on the bandwagon — with the popular fall pumpkin spice trend.
At one time, the sight of Peeps in the grocery stores heralded the arrival of spring and the Easter holiday. But over the years, the popular brand has expanded, offering pumpkin, ghost and cat shapes for Halloween; flavored trees and snowmen for Christmas; and patriotic options for the Fourth of July. And, of course, nothing expresses your love quite like chocolate-covered Peep hearts for Valentine’s Day.
So it was only a matter of time before Pumpkin Spice Peeps happened.
The Peeps, reportedly part of a fall collection that includes caramel apple and candy corn, are due to be available Aug. 31 at Target stores and online.
