The masses on Yelp have spoken. And they like their meals fast and on the cheap.

The peer restaurant review website released its list of the top 100 places to eat in the country based on last year’s Yelp reviews, and some of the rankings may surprise you.

According to the list, Da Poke Shack, a small Hawaii restaurant in a shopping center that scoops its poke with an ice cream scoop, ranked first. But three Los Angeles restaurants placed in the top 20.

Porto’s Bakery in Burbank came in at No. 5 (no surprise there if you factor in those crazy lines at all hours of the day), Joe’s Falafel at No. 10 and Ricky’s Fish Tacos at No. 17.

Rounding out the top five were Paseo, a Caribbean restaurant in Seattle; Oklahoma Joe’s Barbecue in Kansas City; and The Cinnamon Snail, a vegan, organic food truck in New York City.

Restaurants you may expect to find near the top of a best restaurant list, such as The French Laundry, didn’t even make the top 20. Thomas Keller’s Yountville restaurant was ranked 34.

Other L.A. and Orange County spots that made the list were the Cream Pan in Tustin (31), the El Chato Taco Truck (46), Sabroso! Mexican Grill in Garden Grove (61), Tiki Juice Bar in Anaheim (65), Mama D’s Italian Kitchen in Newport Beach (68), Urasawa in Beverly Hills (76), Kang Hodong Baekjeong in Koreatown (88), Stuff I Eat, Inglewood (90), Hy Mart Sandwiches in North Hollywood (92) and Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills (94),
