If you couldn’t snag a spot at one of the Ugly Drum pastrami pop-ups that recently sold out because you weren’t fast enough to jump on tickets, here’s another chance.

Joseph Marcos and Erik Black will reprise Ugly Drum at Mendocino Farms on Fairfax Avenue (near the Grove) on March 20 with two seatings: Tickets go on sale online Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Marcos and Black met while working at Campanile with chefs Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton, and between them they have spent time in the kitchens of Sona, Literati II, Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza, Rustic Canyon and the Spice Table. Now the two are focusing on their own “small batch” barbecue made in the steel drum wood-fired smokers that Black built in his garage, dubbed “Ugly Drum Smokers.”

On the menu, served with craft beer pairings, are Santa Monica Farmers Market pickles with green tomato, “half sours” and cauliflower; spiced smoked almonds; a smoked meat platter with 12-hour pecan-smoked brisket (hand-trimmed certified Angus beef whole brisket, cured, dry-rubbed Texas style), served with Dolce Forno deli rye and potato white bread “napkin”; creamy apple slaw; potato salad with haricots verts and herb-Dijon vinaigrette; and Ugly Drum South Carolina moppin’ mustard sauce.

Dessert will be made by Creme Caramel: coconut cheesecake and kalamansi lemon ice box pie.

Seatings are at 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.
