Why a massive recall of Kraft Singles cheese slices? They could choke you.
Kraft Heinz has recalled 36,000 cases of individually wrapped cheese slices because they may pose a choking hazard, the company said in a statement.
The recall applies to 3-pound and 4-pound packages of Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized prepared cheese slices due to the possibility that a thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain stuck to the slice after the wrapper has been removed. If the film sticks to the cheese and is not removed, it could potentially cause a choking hazard.
The recalled products have a “best when used by” date of Dec. 29, 2015, through Jan. 4, 2016, followed by the manufacturing code S54 or S55. No other sizes, varieties or code dates are included in the recall.
