Google has a food truck ... well, sort of

One of the most talked-about perks of working for Google is the free food. And now the tech giant is offering free food to the rest of us.

Google has a food truck, with free food.

To celebrate the launch of Google Photos, the company’s online photo storage and sharing app, Google launched a food truck. The catch? You have to pay with a photo.

The Google Photos food truck is scheduled to roll into Los Angeles on Friday, with ice cream sandwiches from Coolhaus.

If you want to score a free ice cream sandwich, have one of the truck employees give you a search term. It could be “flower,” “dog,” “beach,” etc. Then find a photo featuring that term in your phone’s gallery within 20 seconds.

The truck will be outside the Starbucks on Melrose Avenue at Stanley Avenue in the Fairfax neighborhood from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., then make a stop at the Brig on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice from 6 to 9 p.m.
