Where to get free coffee and doughnuts for National Coffee Day
You're probably as sick of national fill-in-the-blank days as we are. But today's faux food/drink holiday, National Coffee Day — otherwise known as every work day for most of the planet — means free coffee and doughnuts for everyone. This is reason enough to pay attention. That, and coffee plus anything makes us think of "Gilmore Girls."
Here's how to take advantage of the freebies:
Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free medium cup of Dunkin' Donuts hot or iced dark roast coffee to each guest at participating locations. No doughnut purchase necessary.
Krispy Kreme is offering customers a free small coffee and orginal glazed doughnut.
Peet's Coffee and Tea is giving customers a free small cup of Peet's Major Dickason Blend with the purchase of any baked good, oatmeal or fresh food item.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is celebrating with half-off all sizes of its iced coffee, flavored iced coffee and Americanos all day long. The promotion is limited to one transaction per customer and is available at participating locations. If you're the 100th customer at the 5700 Wilshire Blvd. location of the coffee chain, you'll receive a $100 gift card and be treated to a performance by the USC Trojan Marching Band and Tommy Trojan.
Starbucks decided to forgo the free coffee drinks this year, in favor of planting some trees. For every bag of coffee sold, a tree will be planted in a community that needs one, on the customer's behalf.
