Most people don’t think about making out with a bagel. George Clooney, Brad Pitt and that girl who plays the robot in the new “Ex Machina” movie maybe. But a bagel? Not so much. Unless you’ve tried the cheese bagel from the Yeastie Boys bagel food truck.

The warm dough is completely covered in a blanket of cheese. And when it hits your lips, you find yourself falling mouth-first into an irresistible, carb-and-dairy-fueled love affair.

The bagel has a thin, shiny crust, and the tender, chewy dough is yeasty, but not too bready. A quick inspection reveals the middle hole is completely filled with more cheese.

In addition to wanting to make out with this bagel, you will want to nuzzle it against your cheek.

The cheese bagel is just one of the bagels on the Yeastie Boys bagel food truck, which shows up Monday to Thursday in front of Stumptown Coffee in downtown L.A. around 9 a.m. And the cheese bagel is the only bagel you should order the “game over” sandwich with.

Think of it as the ultimate breakfast sandwich. It’s made with a soft scrambled egg, sliced tomato, applewood smoked bacon, beer cheese and jalapeno spread ($7).

There’s also the “mishka,” made with vegan sun-dried tomato spread, sliced red onion and sprouts ($6). And if you want the traditional bagel, lox and cream cheese breakfast, Yeastie Bagels has their own version of that too. It comes with lox and dill spread, shaved Persian cucumber, radish and caper pesto ($7).

The truck also makes a bagel with Nutella, sliced banana and cream cheese called the “milf” ($6). You’ll understand the name when you eat it.

Like all the bagel names suggest, the Yeastie Boys bagel truck likes to do things its own way, with a lot of personality. The tip jar simply reads “weed fund.”

If you’re heading to brunch at grandma’s house, you can order bagels by the half dozen or dozen, and schmear by the pound or half pound.
