Craft Beer Cellar store and taproom opens in Eagle Rock

Craft Beer Cellar, a New England-based franchise with locations around the country, has opened a bottle shop and taproom on Colorado Boulevard. The Eagle Rock location is the first on the West Coast, with planned openings in Torrance and Oakland to follow.

The shop offers bottles to go, refrigerated six-packs and large-format bottles on the sales floor. In the adjacent taproom, most of the eight taps are local brews.

The staff can help you with ordering tasters and flights at the bar, or creating your own six-pack.

The lounge area features board games, snacks from Homeboy Industries, and some soon-to-be-available cheeses from Milk Farm.

There’s even a parking lot (shared with a couple of other businesses including Found Coffee) and perhaps most exciting, a patio where you can enjoy some al fresco pints.

The team behind the shop, Corissa Hernandez and her husband Gabriel Paredes, are passionate about the local scene, and excited to finally be able to open their doors after a series of delays.

“We got our final license approvals on Saturday [Nov. 14], and trucks showed up all week long,” said Hernandez during the shop’s first night of pouring beer. They raced to fill the coolers with bottles and kegs, and in less than a week, the doors were opened. A grand opening party is planned for mid-December or January.

Craft Beer Cellar is open 11 a.m. to midnight Friday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
