There’s a series of aphrodisiac dinners being offered in Beverly Hills

A Swiss chef who goes by the name of ChefFed (real name Juerg “Fed” Federer) is hoping you’ll want to boost your libido over dinner.

The former “Chopped” contestant is known for his Sex on the Plate Horny Haute Cuisine cooking classes in New York City, where he demonstrated how to make erotic meals designed for two. He’s now popping up at the former Scratch Bar location in Beverly Hills, now called FEDish, for a two-month series of aphrodisiac-packed dinners, inspired by his cooking classes. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.

So what does an aphrodisiac dinner involve? For one, there are no oysters on the menu. Federer is a big believer in the aphrodisiac powers of garlic over oysters. Just make sure your partner eats some too, or at least have some breath mints handy.

Fed’s five-course dinner menu starts with shaved kale, orange vinaigrette, cashew brittle and absinthe, followed by dates, pancetta, goat cheese and brandy. The third course is Guinea fowl two ways, with brie fondue, Thai peanuts and raspberry chutney; the main course is beef cheeks with garlic marmalade and grapefruit candy. And for dessert, there’s chocolate lava cake, cilantro sorbet, white chocolate and tequila with bacon salt.

Tickets for Fed’s Beverly Hills dinner start at $75 and can be purchased online. The dinner series is only available on the weekends.

For the record

Jan. 13, 3:21 p.m.: An earlier version of this article incorrectly said ChefFed is Swedish. He is Swiss. The article also said he was a contestant on “Top Chef.” He was on the show “Chopped.” This is the chef’s first dinner series in L.A., not his second.
