Hillary Rodham Clinton to receive first-ever Michael Kors Award
It’s a coup for Kors.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will receive the first-ever Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards dinner on Oct. 16 in New York.
“I am deeply honored to present Mrs. Clinton with this award that means so much to me,” Kors said in a statement. “She is a dedicated and enormously effective humanitarian whose commitment to community service encompasses the whole planet. Thanks to her talent, devotion and unrelenting efforts on behalf of those with much less, she has improved millions of lives and helped lay the foundation for a better, more just world.”
God’s Love We Deliver is an organization that delivers meals to people suffering from HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses. The seventh annual Golden Heart Awards dinner will be held on World Food Day.
And it’s probably easy to guess what designer Clinton will be wearing for the occasion.
In other Clinton news, NBC announced over the weekend that Diane Lane will be play the title role in a four-hour miniseries “Hillary.” It’s hard to imagine condensing Clinton’s life into four hours, not to mention that the next chapter is still unfolding. But we’ll be watching.
