Coming to the Taste: The Beer Chicks
At the center of a booming craft beer revolution, Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune, also known as the Beer Chicks, are two of L.A.’s premiere beer experts.
Widely regarded as the top female beer specialists in the country, Perozzi and Beaune met while working at the famed gastropub Father’s Office in Santa Monica. The two co-wrote “The Naked Pint: An Unadulterated Guide to Craft Beer,” and their second book, “The Naked Brewer: Fearless Homebrewing, Tips, Tricks & Rule-Breaking Recipes,” is due out in October.
The Chicks recently appeared in their own special on the Cooking Channel, “Eat This, Drink That,” sharing their passion for beer, cocktails and food. Their motto: Beer is good!
Beaune and Perozzi are to co-host Dinner & Drinks at the Taste food festival, along with L.A. Times Deputy Food Editor Betty Hallock, in an appearance featuring plenty of craft beer, wine, spirits and cocktails, along with food tastings and drink demonstrations.
The Taste, the Los Angeles Times’ annual food festival, is set to take place at Paramount Studios’ Melrose Avenue back lot on Labor Day weekend. Check out the Beer Chicks at Dinner & Drinks on Sept. 2,; tickets cost $65 (21 & over only) and are available for purchase online.
