Nasty Gal to launch curated collections of designer vintage pieces
Nasty Gal is getting back to its vintage roots. On Nov. 12, the retailer will drop the first of two curated capsule collections of designer vintage — referred to as its Vintage Goldmine series — at NastyGal.com.
Though Nasty Gal always offers a selection of designer vintage on its site and in stores, these annual capsule collections, which began in 2013, include one-off and limited-edition items. “The Vintage Goldmine capsule is the best of the best stuff: those really limited-edition, hard-to-find pieces that we absolutely cherish,” said Juliana McWilliams, the retailer’s vintage buyer. This year’s edition will include vintage clothing and accessories from Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Chanel, Céline and more.
The first capsule will feature 80 accessories including jewelry and handbags — such as a Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Neverfull tote bag — from the Seventies to the early Aughts, ranging from $195 to $4,500. The second capsule, slated to launch online on Nov. 17, will feature 50 items of vintage Yves Saint Laurent clothing ranging from $128 to $628. Highlights from the collection include the brand’s signature pussy-bow blouses — a style gaining traction in the media cycle lately — as well a Tom Ford-era velvet ribbon blouse.
