To see how far the LGBTQ rights movement has come, just look to the growing list of fashion companies eager to create products celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month, taking place now. After all, there has traditionally been considerable overlap between the LGBTQ and fashion communities.

Viewed optimistically, these Pride Month items are a chance for brands to support equal rights, though cynics may see these efforts as just another chance to sell more stuff. In most instances, these brands are often adding philanthropic kickbacks to their themed collections, which feature hopeful designs on pieces ranging from sneakers to graphic T-shirts.

Despite the upbeat and colorful nature of these LGBTQ-themed collections, pride celebrations nationwide appear to be taking a serious tone in response to the current global political climate. (Los Angeles Pride, for example, will end Sunday with a morning protest march beginning in Hollywood and ending in West Hollywood Park, instead of the traditional pride parade in West Hollywood.)

Here are some of the stylish ways to show your pride this year.
