Wes Anderson has collaborated with Prada on an eight-minute short film titled “Casello Cavalcanti,” which went up online Wednesday at www.youtube.com/user/PRADA.

The film involves Jason Schwartzman in Italy in 1955 crashing his race car into a statue of Jesus Christ in a small-town square. My favorite part: Schwartzman and the locals extinguishing the car fire with acqua frizzante.

There was only one visual reference to the Prada name that I could see in the film, for which Anderson pulled in heavyweight costume designer Mileno Canonero and cinematographer Darius Khondji. The color sense is wonderful.

The short film was given its debut at the Rome Film Festival on Wednesday as part of the Special Events Out of Competition section.

“Castello Cavalcanti” follows Prada’s 2012 collaboration with Roman Polanski on “A Therapy,” which featured Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Kingsley.

Anderson’s next full-length film, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” will be released March 7.
