Jean Paul Gaultier staged his own version of TV’s “Dancing With the Stars” Saturday night at Paris Fashion Week, complete with a judges panel and an elevated catwalk-turned-dance floor for models and dancers to strut their stuff.

There was model Coco Rocha playing the part of Danny Zuko in “Grease,” trained ballet dancer-turned-model Karlie Kloss showing off her vogue-ing moves, and choreographer Blanca Li in the arms of the designer himself. (They even managed a lift!)

Key pieces: Leather shorts and tiered dance dresses with moto jacket-inspired pockets, zippers and snaps. Sheer organza baseball jacket over metallic fringe dress for shimmying all night.

The verdict: In Gaultier’s ready-to-wear collections, innovative design seems to have taken a back seat to showmanship for quite a while now. Nevertheless, the fun was infectious. You only had to look at the clapping, chair-dancing Catherine Deneuve in the front row to know that.
